I chose to flash the radio back to the latest Kenwood firmware. The radio is able to be programmed down to the 440Mhz range (70cm HAM) along with GMRS and of course UHF Commercial frequencies (which was the radio's intent). Using a roof top mag mount Antenna, I've been able to talk from Vehicle to Vehicle up to 10 miles away (Simplex on flat ground non-obstructed (I was on the highway at the time)). They can very easily go much further the higher up you are. However, if the radio is used to its full potential using a Ham Repeate r or Commercial LTR Repeater you can easily stretch 100 miles or more depending on the repeater height and configuration. #Will a kenwood tk 880 work digital full# These radios do support Fleetsync Enhanced Protocol and allow for unit to unit calling and Radio (Caller) ID Support. The radio also has scan support and this works with LTR and conventional channels. Remote Honk Alert with confirmation tone, Remote disable/enable TX, and Radio disable/enable with confirmation tone. All from using DTMF signaling from a remote station. You can also link them to a computer and send short messages to a remote radio over Fleetsync or a pre-defined message using the buttons on the front panel to a specific station or all stations (All Call). #Will a kenwood tk 880 work digital software#.#Will a kenwood tk 880 work digital full#.
